Napoli have reportedly slashed its asking price for Victor Osimhen and are willing to accept close to £85m for the Nigeria striker, BoldSports reports.
The 25-year-old penned a new contract with the Partenopei back last December that included a £113m release clause, and he hoped it would be activated this summer, ready for a new adventure after a positive four-year spell on the Campania coast.
Osimhen is dreaming of a move to the Premier League but his lofty price tag has seemingly scared away potential suitors like Arsenal and Chelsea.
Paris Saint-Germain and some clubs in Saudi Arabia are keen, but offers haven’t materialised yet.
According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Napoli still haven’t received any offers for Osimhen and are willing to listen to proposals in the region of around £85m as they look to cash in on the striker this summer.
It had been reported earlier by Italian outlets that Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli were reportedly ready to trigger his earlier release clause as they looked to make a step forward alongside Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal who are hard at work in the transfer window.
The Nigerian striker is reportedly certain that he doesn’t want to continue with Napoli past this summer and he hopes that the drop in his asking price will help invite more interest in his service.
Meanwhile, new Napoli coach is awaiting the arrival of Romelu Lukaku.
Conte quickly identified Lukaku as one of his primary targets ahead of the new season, but a deal for the Chelsea striker can’t be completed until the Napoli forward is sold, leaving things on standby.
