British-Nigerian heavyweight sensation Moses Itauma has downplayed the prospect of ever facing boxing legend Anthony Joshua but admitted he is open to a potential clash with fellow Nigerian star Efe Ajagba in the future.

Itauma revealed this during a press conference in Lagos, Nigeria, where he was officially unveiled as Bet9ja’s newest ambassador.

The 20-year-old, fresh off a stunning knockout victory over British veteran Dillian Whyte, is scheduled to return to the ring on December 13 in Manchester. However, he confirmed he will not be facing hard-hitting Cuban contender Frank Sanchez in an IBF title eliminator.

When asked about the possibility of squaring off against former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, Itauma dismissed the idea. Instead, he acknowledged that a showdown with Ajagba could be more realistic in the future.

“I don’t think the fight between me and Anthony Joshua will ever happen, I honestly don’t know how that would work,” Itauma told reporters in Lagos.

“Against Efe Ajagba, maybe that’s a fight that could happen down the line, but he’s not currently in the picture. He doesn’t hold a title or anything like that.

“Still, it could be possible somewhere along the way, but that’s really a question for my promoter. My job is just to get in the ring and fight; everything else outside of it isn’t up to me.”

Unbeaten in 13 professional fights, Itauma has secured nine of those victories by knockout, cementing his reputation as one of the fastest-rising heavyweights in world boxing.
