Serie A giants AC Milan are seeking more clarity before deciding whether to complete the deal to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen, Bold Sports reports.

This comes after initial medical tests failed to provide the guarantees the club expected regarding the 24-year-old’s physical condition and long-term continuity.

According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Boniface arrived in Milan on Friday for his medicals, but the first round of examinations raised concerns. The club has now scheduled further, in-depth medical checks for Saturday to determine whether to proceed with the transfer.

Milan had already reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen on a €5 million loan deal with an option to buy for an additional €24 million next summer, taking the total package to around €30 million. The Nigerian striker had also agreed personal terms and was set to sign a four-year contract if the move is finalised.

The uncertainty surrounding Boniface’s transfer has prompted Milan to reopen contacts for Conrad Harder in recent hours. The Danish striker, who is also being pursued by two other European clubs, remains interested in a move to Milan and is monitoring developments closely.

However, this does not mean that the Boniface deal is off. AC Milan view the former Union St.Gilloise man as the ideal striker for their system and are well aware of his immense contributions to Bayer Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga triumph just two seasons ago.

With the Serie A season set to begin and Massimiliano Allegri eager to reinforce his attacking options, the outcome of Saturday’s tests will be crucial in deciding whether Boniface becomes a Milan player or the club redirects its focus toward other targets.
