Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has resumed training with Atalanta’s first team after holding talks with head coach Ivan Jurić to clarify his situation at the club, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerian international had been out of team training since July, when Atalanta rejected Inter Milan’s €45m bid for him. Despite Lookman agreeing personal terms, the Serie A side refused to sanction any deal below their €50 million valuation, effectively blocking the move.
Further transfer interest emerged before the window closed, with Bayern Munich reportedly tabling a loan offer on deadline day. Atalanta, however, did not even respond, leaving Lookman frustrated over his future.

After the transfer window closed, the 27-year-old featured for Nigeria, playing in the 1-0 victory against Rwanda in Uyo and the 1-1 draw with South Africa at the Free State Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein in September’s World Cup qualifiers.
However, Atalanta did not include Lookman in their squad for their first Champions League game of the season against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, which ended in a heavy 4-0 defeat.
Domestically, Jurić’s side are unbeaten in Serie A but have drawn twice in their opening three matches, leaving them seventh with five points.

With both parties locked in a stalemate, a resolution became inevitable. Lookman’s return now provides Atalanta with an attacking boost, while the player himself will be keen to regain match sharpness and consistency until at least the next transfer window, when his future may again come under review.
He is expected to make his return to action on Sunday, 21 September, when Atalanta face Torino, as the Bergamo side aim to bounce back from their European setback.
