Jordan Nwora scores season-high 24 points in Raptor’s loss

Jordan Nwora had a season-high 24 points for the Toronto Raptors in their narrow 125-124 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Jordan Nwora, who was recently traded to the Raptors from the Indiana Pacers, is still trying to find his footing after a tough season with the Pacers. He was limited by injuries and a crowded rotation, but he showed flashes of his potential in his first extended playing time with the Raptors.

Coming off the bench, Jordan Nwora tied for a team-high 24 points with Scottie Barnes. He also tied for a team-high nine rebounds with Bruce Brown Jr., who also had 11 points. The Nigerian forward added six assists in 31 minutes on the court.

All-Star guard Trae Young led the Hawks in scoring with a game-high 30 points and 12 assists while adding two rebounds. Saddiq Bey contributed 26 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists, while Dejounte Murray added 24 points, four rebounds, and two assists.

Nwora’s Nigerian compatriot, Onyeka Okongwu, came off the bench to contribute 10 points, three rebounds, and one assist to the win.

The Nigerian forward said he hopes to get better game by game.

“This is my first time this season playing this much,” Jordan Nwora said. “It’s tough at times being in the situation I’ve been in. I’m just getting ready. Since I got here, all these coaches have been super welcoming. I’ve been in the gym working endlessly with these guys. I know what I’m capable of, I know these guys can see it too. I’m willing to work and listen to what they want me to do and just improve every day.”

Nwora’s performance is a promising sign for the Raptors. He is a talented scorer who can stretch the floor with his shooting. If he can continue to develop his game, he could be a valuable asset for the Raptors in the playoffs.
