Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho etched his name on the scoresheet once again, netting his third goal of the season in Celtic’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
Having seen two of his goals disallowed in recent outings, the Nigerian forward was not to be denied this time, calmly slotting home from the penalty spot in the 28th minute to hand Celtic the lead.
Motherwell responded through Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, who struck twice in the 41st and 55th minutes to put the hosts ahead.

But the Bhoys rallied back, Benjamin Nygren levelled in the 69th minute before Daizen Maeda snatched a dramatic winner in the 98th minute of stoppage time.
The defeat marked Motherwell’s first of the season, dropping them to sixth place, while Celtic closed the gap at the top to just two points behind surprise leaders Heart of Midlothian, the only other unbeaten side in the league alongside the Hoops.
Iheanacho, who joined Celtic in the summer as a free agent, has quickly established himself as a key figure for the Scottish champions. The 29-year-old has registered three goals and an assist in just six appearances across all competitions.
After years of stalled progress, including an unproductive stint at Sevilla and a disappointing loan spell at Middlesbrough, the Nigeria international appears revitalised in Scotland, looking every bit like a player reborn.
