The Nigeria Premier Basketball League is set for an intense semifinal showdown, with Rivers Hoopers, Gboko City Chiefs, Hoops and Read, and Nile University ready to battle for a spot in the final.
The games will take place on Sunday, November 17, at the Basketball Stadium in Old Port Harcourt Township, Rivers State.
Defending champions and hosts Rivers Hoopers head into the semi-final as the team to beat, boasting a perfect 10-game unbeaten run this season. Their dominance in Group B was highlighted by a commanding 92-60 victory over Nile University, with star player Kevin Amayo leading the way.
Nile University, despite that loss, have shown resilience, securing wins over Kwara Falcons (62-45) and Gombe Bulls (56-53) to advance. They will face Hoops and Read, who finished top of Group A after victories against Kano Pillars (73-66) and Police Baton (62-51).
Gboko City Chiefs also booked their place in the semifinals with a crucial 64-62 win over Hoops and Read, finishing second in Group A on goal difference. They will now face the formidable Rivers Hoopers in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
