Victor Osimhen etched his name into Galatasaray’s history books on Wednesday night, becoming the first-ever player to score in seven consecutive games in major European competitions. In doing so, he broke Burak Yilmaz’s long-standing record and also became the club’s fastest-ever goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League.
The Nigerian striker was in sensational form at RAMS Park, scoring twice to inspire the Turkish champions to a comfortable 3–1 victory over Norwegian side FK Bodo/Glimt on matchday three of the Champions League.
Osimhen opened the scoring inside three minutes, curling home with his very first touch of the game – the quickest goal Galatasaray have ever scored in the competition. He doubled the advantage in the 33rd minute, capitalizing on a defensive mix-up to round the goalkeeper and slot calmly into an empty net.

Galatasaray made it 3–0 on the hour mark through Yunus Akgün, whose goal was a direct result of Osimhen’s relentless pressing. The Nigerian dispossessed a Bodo defender, forcing a scramble that ended with Akgün firing home the rebound after his initial effort was saved.
Bodo/Glimt managed a consolation through Andreas Helmersen in the 76th minute, but it was too little, too late, as Galatasaray sealed their second win in three group matches – a strong response to their opening 5–1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
After the match, Osimhen dedicated his record-breaking feat to his teammates and fans.
“I don’t score these goals alone, and I don’t break these records alone,” he said. “Many thanks to the team and our amazing supporters. We’ll keep building on this momentum.”

Reflecting further on the team’s performance, the 25-year-old praised the collective effort.
“It was crucial that we won – a very important match. I’m proud of my teammates; they fought hard against a very strong side. I want to thank the staff, my coach, and everyone who contributed to this victory.”
Osimhen, who was substituted for Mauro Icardi in the 73rd minute to a standing ovation, has now scored five goals in eight appearances across all competitions this season – including three in his last two Champions League outings.
