Former Chelsea F.C. and Nigeria national football team winger Victor Moses made his long-awaited debut in the Kazakhstan Premier League on Monday after featuring for FC Kaisar in their league clash with FC Astana.
The experienced forward came off the bench in the 64th minute, replacing Chilean midfielder Thomas Jones, as Kaisar looked to find a breakthrough in the encounter which eventually ended goalless.
Moses only recently completed his move to the Kazakh side after joining the club on a free transfer during the January window following the expiration of his contract with Luton Town F.C..
His first appearance for Kaisar had initially been delayed after he was unable to travel immediately, having been held up in the United Arab Emirates due to developments in the Middle East. The Nigerian eventually arrived in Kazakhstan on March 13 and was included in the squad shortly afterwards.
Wearing the number 11 jersey, the former Super Eagles star was introduced in the second half, marking the beginning of a new chapter in a career that has taken him across several European leagues.
Moses remains one of the notable figures from Nigeria’s triumph at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and has enjoyed spells with several top clubs including Liverpool F.C., Fenerbahçe S.K., Inter Milan, and Chelsea.
His arrival at Kaisar is regarded as one of the most high-profile signings in the history of the Kazakh league, with the club hoping the experienced winger will bring quality and leadership to the squad.
