Nigerian striker David Okereke says he has yet to decide on his future ahead of the 2025/26 season, with several options currently on the table, Bold Sports exclusively reports.
The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to newly promoted Turkish Super Lig side Kocaelispor, with reports suggesting he had already agreed to reunite with manager Selçuk İnan, whom he previously played under at Gaziantep. However, Okereke has dismissed these claims as mere rumours.
With his parent club Cremonese returning to Serie A, David Okereke says staying in Italy is also an attractive possibility, though he has not completely ruled out a return to Turkey.

“A move to Kocaelispor? It’s more of a rumour,” David Okereke exclusively told Bold Sports. “I had the chance to play under Kocaelispor new coach at Gaziantep. We only spoke briefly — he asked if I’d like to join him, and I told him, ‘Since my team is back in Serie A, I’d like to go back to Italy and see how it goes.’ My experience in Turkey was really interesting.
“It wouldn’t be a bad idea to return to Turkey, but for now, I don’t want to think too much about it. I just want to take a break, relax, and let my agents handle everything.”
Okereke also described his move to Turkey as pivotal for his career after a difficult loan spell at Torino, where he failed to score in nine appearances.
“I had a tough time at Torino and needed a place to regain my confidence,” he said. “Joining the Gaziantep family was the best decision — they welcomed me warmly. The coach kept his word and gave me the chance to rediscover myself and return to form. Thank God everything went really well.”
Okereke netted nine goals in 29 league appearances for Gaziantep. According to reports, the club is also considering activating the purchase option included in his loan deal to sign him permanently.
