The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed an all-Cameroonian officiating crew to handle Nigeria’s Round of 16 clash against Mozambique at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with Abdou Abdel Mefire named as the centre referee for the crucial knockout encounter.

Abdou Abdel Mefire will be supported by fellow Cameroonians Elvis Noupoue and Carine Atezambong, who will serve as assistant referees for the contest.

The highly anticipated match is scheduled to take place on Monday at the Complexe Sportif de Fès in Morocco.

The kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm Nigerian time, with both teams aiming to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

This encounter will mark only the second time Nigeria and Mozambique have faced each other in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Their previous meeting at the tournament came during the 2010 edition hosted by Angola.

On that occasion, the Super Eagles produced a dominant display, cruising to a convincing 3-0 victory over the Mambas. As they prepare to meet again on the continental stage, attention will not only be on the players but also on the Cameroonian officiating crew entrusted with handling the crucial tie.
