Balmoral Promotions honours three Nigerian champions with WBO Africa Championship belts

Balmoral Promotions hosted the official presentation of World Boxing Organization (WBO) Africa Championship belts to three Nigerian boxing champions at a special ceremony held at Villa Valhalla, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The event celebrated the achievements of Godday “Zodsolo” Appah, WBO Africa Cruiserweight Champion; Basit Adebayo, WBO Africa Lightweight Champion; and Taiwo Agbaje, WBO Africa Featherweight Champion. The champions were formally presented with their championship belts in the presence of sports stakeholders, members of the media, business leaders, boxing enthusiasts, and other distinguished guests.

The ceremony was attended by Ezekiel Adamu, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Balmoral Group, and Osa Bazuu, Founder of N Effect Mode Ltd and manager of Godday Appah, alongside the champions whose accomplishments continue to elevate the profile of Nigerian boxing across the continent.

Speaking at the event, Osa Bazuu described the presentation as a significant milestone for the future of Nigerian sports.

Also speaking at the ceremony, Ezekiel Adamu reaffirmed Balmoral Group’s commitment to the growth and development of professional boxing in Nigeria.

We are proud to honour these champions and remain committed to creating platforms that enable Nigerian athletes to compete at the highest levels, while bringing international recognition to Nigeria and Africa.”

Among the honourees was Godday “Zodsolo” Appah, who captured the WBO Africa Cruiserweight title following his victory over Ezra Arenyeka. Basit Adebayo was recognised as the WBO Africa Lightweight Champion, while Taiwo Agbaje received his belt as the WBO Africa Featherweight Champion.

The belt presentation underscored the continued rise of Nigerian boxing and highlighted the contributions of promoters, managers, and other key stakeholders working to create opportunities for local athletes to excel on the international stage. The ceremony also reinforced the growing momentum behind Nigerian boxing and the country’s emergence as a force within the African and global boxing landscape.
