Chicago native Ayo Dosunmu exploded for a season-high 24 points, sparking the Bulls to a 124-116 victory over the Miami Heat and snapping a two-game skid. The player of Nigerian descent added eight rebounds and five assists in 35 minutes off the bench, leading a balanced Bulls attack.
Colby White topped the Bulls with 26 points, 11 assists, and four rebounds, while Nikola Vucevic chipped in 24 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. DeMar DeRozan chipped in 23 points.
Dosunmu’s performance was a stark turnaround from his scoreless dud in the December 12th loss to the Bucks. He credited his recent hot shooting to extra work with assistant coach Peter Patton.

“We’ve been talking about ways to make my shot more effective,” Dosunmu said after the game. “It’s about those late nights and early mornings in the gym. Repetition. Just putting in the work.”
Ayo Dosunmu, meanwhile, embraced his role as facilitator after a first half focused on scoring. “They were closing out harder on me in the second half,” he explained. “So I attacked the rim and looked to collapse the defense and find open shooters.”
Despite the win, Dosunmu remains focused on his own development. “I’m still learning,” he acknowledged. “Especially reading pick-and-rolls and manipulating defenses better. But I’m getting there. That’s all I can ask for.”
