Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre said she is delighted to join Saudi Women’s League side Al Ittihad.
Ittihad announced the signing of the Nigeria international on Wednesday from Leicester City on their social media platforms. The move puts an end to her time with the Foxes whom she joined in 2020.
Plumptre had previously represented Notts County and LA Galaxy OC at club level while she had also represented England at the U-15 to U-23 level before switching allegiance to Nigeria in 2022.

Speaking on the move, the 25-year-old said she is delighted with the move and hopes she learns not just from the pitch but also from the environment.
“Football for me has always been about connecting with not only myself but with people I’m surrounded by, be it my teammate or staff. Throughout my career, it has been about representing something bigger than myself,” she said in her unveiling video.
“Joining Al Ittihad, I feel like I’m going to have so many opportunities both on and off the pitch to be able to learn about football here. I didn’t come with any expectations, I came here being myself and I hope that I can learn and take so much from the environment, especially as a football player but most importantly as a human being and I’m already feeling that.
“I’m looking forward to getting the journey started with this team and seeing what we can achieve in every aspect.”
