Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare made his first Premier League start under new head coach Rob Edwards, but it ended in disappointment as Wolves fell 2-0 to Crystal Palace at Molineux on Saturday, Bold Sports reports.

Edwards, appointed following the dismissal of Vítor Pereira, named a strong lineup featuring Arokodare and Jørgen Strand Larsen in attack as he sought to make an immediate impact and chase Wolves’ first league victory of the season.

His side held firm in a goalless first half but were undone after the break by an efficient Palace outfit.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute when Daniel Muñoz fired in a low left-footed effort to give Oliver Glasner’s men the lead. Six minutes later, Palace doubled their advantage in spectacular fashion as Yeremi Pino unleashed a stunning curling strike that crashed in off the crossbar, sealing the London side’s fifth win of the campaign.

The result lifted Crystal Palace to fourth place with 20 points from 12 matches, extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to five games. They will look to maintain that momentum when they host Strasbourg in the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday.

For Wolves, the defeat keeps them bottom of the Premier League table with just two points from 12 matches, piling early pressure on Edwards ahead of their trip to face Aston Villa on Sunday, November 30.
