Saudi Women’s Premier League side Al Hilal have completed the signing of Super Falcons legend Asisat Oshoala from Bay FC, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old forward has penned a two-year deal and is expected to play a key role in the club’s push for silverware in the coming seasons.
Oshoala’s arrival marks another milestone for Nigerian women’s football, as she joins a growing list of compatriots making their mark in Saudi Arabia’s top tier. Among them are Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega at Al-Ittihad, Chinonyerem Macleans at Al-Shabab, and Rita Chikwelu at Al-Riyadh.

On the other hand, Oshoala’s departure marks the end of her short but impactful spell with Bay FC, where she became a central figure in the club’s debut National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season. Reflecting on her contributions, Bay FC Sporting Director Matt Potter praised the Nigerian star for her influence both on and off the pitch.
“Asisat has been an incredibly important part of Bay FC history, not only with her impact on the pitch but also through the energy, professionalism, and kindness she brought every day,” said Potter.
“She is a world-class player and an even better person, and we are grateful for everything she contributed to our club in its first season. We wish her nothing but success as she takes this next step in her career with Al Hilal.”
During her time in the U.S., Oshoala made 38 appearances, leaving Bay FC ranked in the top five of nearly every club offensive record and finishing as the club’s top scorer with seven goals in their inaugural season.

Before her stint in the U.S., Oshoala enjoyed an illustrious six-year spell at Barcelona, where she netted 107 goals and provided 19 assists in 149 appearances. Her heroics helped the Catalan side secure five consecutive league titles and two UEFA Women’s Champions League trophies, cementing her status as one of the world’s elite forwards.
Oshoala’s journey has also seen her feature for top clubs in England, including Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as a successful period in China with Dalian Quanjian.
Widely regarded as one of Africa’s greatest female footballers, Al Hilal will be banking on Oshoala’s vast experience and proven quality to strengthen their title ambitions and establish themselves among the continent’s top clubs.
