Ex Nigeria international, Victor Moses, believes the Super Eagles have all it takes to conquer Africa and create history at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations set to kick off today in Ivory Coast.
Moses was a member of the AFCON winning squad in 2013, playing a key part in the victory. He also represented the country in two World Cups – Brazil and Russia before calling time on his international career in 2018.
The Eagles would be looking to win their fourth AFCON title and the first in over a decade but would first have to make it out of a tough group that has hosts Ivory Coast, giant killers Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau.

Nigeria’s opening game comes up on Sunday against Guinea Bissau and the ex-international has thrown his support on the Eagles, “Good luck to the guys for the AFCON!,” Moses wrote on his social media handles.
“I have amazing memories from previous tournaments and I know you can create more history this year. We are all behind you!”
Although the Eagles slogan at the AFCON is “Let’s do it again” the team has been depleted due to injuries to some of its key players, especially strikers. Victor Boniface and Umar Sadiq both got injured in vamp and have returned to their clubs while midfielder Wilfred Ndidi couldn’t join the party due to injury.
There was good news as key striker Kelechi Iheanacho overcame his injury to join up with the team on Saturday.
