The Flamingos will depart Nigeria for Côte d’Ivoire on Wednesday ahead of the first leg of their second-round 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Guinea.
The crucial clash will take place on Saturday, May 23, with Nigeria hosting the second leg on Saturday, May 30.
The winner over two legs will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco. The tournament is scheduled to hold from October 17 to November 7.
The Flamingos, led by head coach Akeem Busari have being camped in Ikenne for one week, preparing for the huge encounter.

The team have played six friendly games ahead of the qualification clash. While they were camped at Abuja, they recorded five wins and one draw, scoring 23 goals and conceding just twice.
Their most recent friendly came in Ikenne against Lakeside Queens FA. The Flamingos produced another dominant performance, securing a 5-0 victory.
They will now be aiming to replicate their impressive friendly displays in the first leg against Guinea. Victory in that game will give the Flamingos a comfortable advantage ahead of the return leg a week later.
