Wilfred Ndidi is set for a spell on the sidelines after Beşiktaş confirmed the midfielder suffered a hamstring injury during their heated derby clash with Fenerbahçe.
The Super Eagles captain was forced off in the 85th minute after pulling up with discomfort in the back of his thigh, cutting short his involvement in a tightly contested encounter that ended in a narrow defeat for Beşiktaş.
Following medical assessments, the club revealed that detailed scans identified both a strain and internal bleeding in the hamstring area, specifically the biceps femoris muscle. Treatment has already commenced under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.

“The results of MRI scan at Altunizade Acıbadem Hospital have revealed that Beşiktaş midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has bleeding and strain in his hamstring. His rehabilitation is being closely monitored by the Beşiktaş medical team.”
The injury compounds a frustrating outing for Ndidi, who had earlier been booked in the 52nd minute—his fourth caution of the campaign—automatically ruling him out of the next league fixture.
As a result, the 29-year-old will miss upcoming Süper Lig matches against Antalyaspor and Samsunspor, dealing a blow to Beşiktaş as they navigate a crucial phase of the season.
Since arriving from Leicester City last summer, Ndidi has been a key figure, featuring 26 times across all competitions and contributing two goals.
With rehabilitation now underway, attention turns to his recovery timeline as Beşiktaş look to cope without one of their most influential midfielders.
