Super Eagles striker Akor Adams says Sevilla are satisfied to have secured a point in their 1–1 draw against Rayo Vallecano at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium on Sunday.
The Nigeria international opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but Alfonso Espino restored parity for the visitors in the 50th minute. Despite several attempts from both sides to find a winner, the match eventually ended in a share of the spoils.
The goal was Adams’ first in six games and takes his tally for the season to seven goals and three assists in 22 league appearances. However, the Nigerian forward admitted that while he is pleased Sevilla managed to secure at least a point, he was disappointed not to convert some of the chances that came his way.

“I think every point is important at this stage of the season. We work hard to get them. We got a point, but there are many things to work on and improve to reach our goal of getting three points,” Adams said after the game.
“Yes, we’re happy to have gotten a point, but not entirely, because I also take responsibility. There were many situations that could have put us ahead. We’ll just work on that and we’ll be better next time.”
Speaking on his goal, Adams said that although scoring is part of his responsibility, his main priority is helping Sevilla win games, regardless of who finds the back of the net.

“For me, the most important thing is to win with Sevilla. I work hard every day to win matches. Yes, scoring goals is my job, but at this stage of the season it doesn’t matter if Kike scores or if Lucien scores. In the end, we’re a team.
“We need to get points. But seven goals… I think I should have scored more. I’m grateful to God, but I’m not satisfied right now.”
