At the Cathedral, an early goal by Kenneth Igboke in the 5th minute set the tone for Rangers, who were in demolition mode. Chidozie Iwundu made it 2–0 just four minutes later in the 9th minute. Remo Stars pulled one back in the 45th minute through Edimo Kingue, but the goal proved only a consolation for the 2024/25 NPFL champions.

Wisdom Ebirim restored Rangers’ two-goal advantage in the 62nd minute, before Igboke grabbed his second of the match in the 94th minute to seal maximum points at home.

The victory keeps Rangers firmly in the NPFL title race as they sit two points behind leaders Rivers United, who still have two games in hand.

In the battle for third place, Nasarawa United leapfrogged Ikorodu City following a narrow 1–0 victory in Lafia. Bright Amadi scored the decisive goal in the 83rd minute to secure all three points for the hosts.
