Victor Osimhen has issued a warning to Liverpool FC ahead of Galatasaray’s upcoming clash with the Premier League giants in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League.
The Nigerian striker spoke after helping Galatasaray secure a 1–0 derby win over Beşiktaş JK, a result that boosted confidence in the squad before the highly anticipated European encounter.
Liverpool finished third during the league phase of the competition and will now face the Turkish champions in a two-legged Round of 16 tie.
The first leg is scheduled to take place in Istanbul on March 10, with Galatasaray hoping home advantage will play a crucial role.

Osimhen, who has been one of the standout performers for the Turkish side this season, believes his team must approach the game carefully but insists they are ready for the challenge.
“I’m following my coach’s instructions. There were team-mates who excited and motivated me. After the goal, they called me back to defence,” Osimhen said.
“I love this club very much. I’m proud of my team. We’re showing unity. We need to take it game by game. This win will give us strength. We need to keep our feet on the ground.”
While confident in his team’s ability, the former SSC Napoli striker acknowledged the quality of Liverpool and the difficulty of competing in Europe’s elite club competition.

“Liverpool are a very big team. We’ll be playing at home. If we are careful, we can do well, even if it’s not easy. All matches in the Champions League are tough. We will fight to do well.”
The upcoming encounter will not be the first time both clubs meet this season.
When Galatasaray hosted Liverpool during the league phase earlier in the campaign, Osimhen’s first-half penalty proved decisive as the Turkish side held on to secure victory at RAMS Park.
Despite persistent interest from Premier League clubs including Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC and Manchester United, Osimhen appears content with life in Turkey.

The 27-year-old joined Galatasaray permanently from Napoli last summer in a deal reportedly worth £65 million and has continued to justify that investment with consistent performances.
So far this season, the Nigerian forward has scored 18 goals in all competitions, further cementing his status as Galatasaray’s key attacking figure.
