Nigerian defender Osinachi Ohale has joined Italian side Como 1907 following her departure from Mexican club Pachuca. The 34-year-old defender returns to Italy after spending three seasons with Pachuca, Bold Sports reports.
Ohale returns to Italy
Ohale brings a wealth of experience to Como after a long career across different leagues. She began her professional career in Nigeria in 2008 and later played for AS Roma in 2020.
Her career has also taken her to the United States, Sweden, Spain and Mexico. The move gives the former Super Falcons defender another opportunity to continue her club career in Italy.
Como 1907 Women’s Technical Director Nils Nielsen believes her experience can make a difference to the team.
“Osinachi is a very experienced and good defender. Representing Nigeria for more than 15 years, many as captain, her international experience is extremely valuable for us. Her ability to place herself in the right spot defensively, and her 1 on 1 skills in marking as well as aerial strengths will help the team for sure”.

Ohale also expressed her excitement about returning to Italy and starting another chapter in her career.
“I’m happy to return to Italy and embark on this new experience here in Como; I have a very positive feeling about it. I’m ready to do whatever the coach asks of me to help the team.”
Five-time WAFCON winner joins Como
The transfer comes shortly after Ohale announced her retirement from international football.
She ended her Nigeria career after more than 15 years with the Super Falcons. During that period, she established herself as one of the country’s most experienced defenders.
Ohale also won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations five times with Nigeria. Her international career included appearances at four FIFA Women’s World Cups and seven WAFCON tournaments.
Now, the defender turns her attention fully to club football with Como. Her experience and defensive qualities could prove valuable as she begins this new phase of her career in Italy.
