Super Eagles striker Akor Adams ended his five-game goal drought, scoring the only goal for Sevilla as they drew 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano in their La Liga encounter on Sunday, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerian International wasted no time in showing his quality, heading home in the 13th minute to give the hosts an important lead at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
Adams connected with a pinpoint delivery from former Chelsea captain César Azpilicueta, who floated a precise cross into the box for the forward to nod past the goalkeeper.

Sevilla, however, were unable to build on their advantage. Their missed opportunities proved costly in the second half as Rayo Vallecano restored parity five minutes after the break through full-back Pacha Espino.
The defender struck a superb first-time effort into the top corner, leaving the Sevilla goalkeeper with no chance and securing a valuable point for the visitors.
The result extends Rayo Vallecano’s unbeaten run to five matches and leaves both teams level on 31 points after 27 games. Sevilla sit 13th in the table, just behind Rayo Vallecano on goal difference, with both sides now six points clear of the relegation zone.

Attention now turns to a difficult test for Sevilla, who travel to face league leaders Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday, March 15. Rayo Vallecano, meanwhile, shift focus to European action as they prepare to face Samsunspor in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday.
Akor Adams now has seven goals and three assists in just 15 La Liga starts, underlining his growing importance as Sevilla look to climb further up the table in the closing weeks of the season.
