The Los Angeles Lakers have traded D’Tigers guard Gabe Vincent and a 2032 second-round draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for shooting guard Luke Kennard, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Vincent joined the Lakers in 2023 on a three-year, $33 million deal, but his stint in Los Angeles was hampered by injuries and inconsistent performances, limiting his impact and production. The guard has faced criticism from fans for failing to replicate the form that helped propel the Miami Heat to the NBA Finals.

In his final appearance for the Lakers on Tuesday, Vincent went scoreless in 16 minutes during a 125–109 win over the Brooklyn Nets, finishing with two steals, one rebound, and one assist.
The addition of Kennard addresses a key need for the Lakers, providing much-needed perimeter shooting to a roster already featuring star names such as LeBron James, Luka Dončić, and Austin Reaves.
Vincent averaged 4.8 points in 19.3 minutes per game for the Lakers during the 2025–26 NBA season.
