Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim is hopeful that forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo will be available for their Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Monday night, Bold Sports reports.

United are among the clubs most affected by AFCON call-ups, with Diallo, Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui all summoned by their national teams for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for December 21 to January 18 in Morocco.

FIFA has set December 15 as the deadline for clubs to release players for the tournament, one week before the kickoff. Mazraoui is already confirmed to miss Monday’s match, as hosts Morocco open the competition on December 21.

However, with Ivory Coast and Cameroon set to play their first group games on December 24, United are technically allowed to keep Diallo and Mbeumo until December 17, which would make them available for the Bournemouth fixture.

Manchester United and Amorim are currently in discussions with both federations to delay the players’ arrivals by a few days, ensuring they can feature on Monday night.

“We are still in conversation with the national teams,” Amorim said per Dailymail. “The game is on Monday. They are here, they are training, and we are preparing for all scenarios.

“I don’t know if it will be the same situation for each player. It depends on the games. Every national team has its own plans regarding when it wants its players.

“I expect to have a decision today or tomorrow. We are waiting until the last moment so we can have all the players available and choose the best team to start the game.”
