D’Tigers forward Precious Achiuwa notched his first double-double for his new team, the Sacramento Kings, despite their 144–117 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Golden 1 Center.

Achiuwa, who joined the Kings as a free agent on November 4, was making just his third appearance of the season. The 26-year-old impressed on both ends of the court but couldn’t prevent the Kings from suffering their seventh defeat in 10 games, leaving them 13th in the Western Conference standings.

Starting a game for the first time this season, Achiuwa contributed 12 points, 10 rebounds, and one block, marking his career-high points tally since joining Sacramento.

For the Kings, Zach LaVine led the scoring with 26 points, DeMar DeRozan added 22 points, Domantas Sabonis posted 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Nique Clifford chipped in 10 points off the bench.

The Timberwolves had seven players in double figures, led by Anthony Edwards with a game-high 26 points. Jaden McDaniels followed with 22, Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle scored 19 apiece, Naz Reid had 13, while Jaylen Clark and Rob Dillingham added 11 points each.

It was a strong personal showing for Achiuwa, who managed just four points in each of his first two games for the franchise. Up next, the Kings face the Denver Nuggets in their next outing.
