A total of 11 players are expected to arrive in the Super Eagles camp today ahead of Thursday’s crucial 2026 FIFA African World Cup Qualifying Play-off Tournament in Morocco, where Nigeria will face Gabon.
Ten players are already in camp, including captain William Troost-Ekong, Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem, Benjamin Fredrick, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, and Olakunle Olusegun.
The Super Eagles will take on Gabon in the first semifinal of the playoffs at the 68,000-capacity Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah, with the winner advancing to meet either Cameroon or DR Congo, who face off in the other semifinal at the Stade El Barid in Rabat.

Among the players expected to join camp today are star striker Victor Osimhen, reigning African Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman, goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye, Amas Obasogie, and defenders Semi Ajayi and Bright Osayi-Samuel, among others.
The team is scheduled to hold its first training session on Monday evening, with a full house expected by Tuesday as preparations intensify for Thursday’s encounter.
Head coach Eric Chelle, along with his coaching staff and team officials, is already in Morocco to welcome the players and continue preparations for the mini-tournament in Rabat.
