Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached an agreement in principle to sign Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk, Bold Sports reports.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, both clubs have settled on a €27 million fee, with the Nigerian forward set to undergo his medical on Saturday as Wolves aim to finalise the transfer before the window closes.

The move is considered a key reinforcement for Wolves, who have been in the market for a new attacker this summer regardless of the uncertainty surrounding first-choice striker Jørgen Strand Larsen, who has been linked with a switch to Newcastle United.

Wolves had previously shown strong interest in signing another Nigerian talent, Christantus Uche, from Getafe. However, the deal collapsed after the player’s representatives opted to keep him at the La Liga club for at least another season.

Arokodare is now set to join the growing list of Super Eagles stars featuring in the Premier League, alongside Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina, as well as Fulham duo Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a standout campaign with Genk last season, scoring 23 goals and providing five assists in 45 matches across all competitions while securing the Belgian Pro League Golden Boot.

He also won the prestigious Ebony Shoe award, presented to the best African player in Belgium, further cementing his reputation as one of the league’s finest performers.
