Nigerian UFC heavyweight fighter Kennedy Nzechukwu’s hopes of securing a third consecutive victory were dashed after he was submitted by Valter Walker in just 54 seconds of the first round at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Nzechukwu, coming off back-to-back knockout wins, was aiming to extend his impressive form against Walker, who entered the bout on a two-fight winning streak, both via heel hook submissions.
Walker needed less than a minute to force the Nigerian to tap out after catching his leg in an awkward position. The win marked Walker’s third straight victory by heel hook submission, following triumphs over Junior Tafa and Don’Tale Mayes.

Walker came out aggressively from the opening bell, landing several punches and giving Nzechukwu no breathing space before seizing the opportunity to grab his foot. The Nigerian tapped out within seconds from the intense pain.
Reacting to the victory, Walker expressed confidence in his strategy and hinted at more to come.
“I told everyone to watch out for the foot lock, and I have more,” Walker said in his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier. “The UFC gives me confidence — I believe more and more.”
