Nigerian basketball sensation Reuben Chinyelu has announced his withdrawal from the 2025 NBA Draft and returned to the University of Florida for his junior season with the Gators.

The former NBA Africa Academy standout initially declared for the draft in April while maintaining his college eligibility. However, after further consultations, the 6-foot-10 power forward has decided to return for a second year with the Gators, reigning NCAA champions.

Reuben Chinyelu confirmed the news on Monday via his social media, captioning his post simply: “Run it back.”

His decision was first reported by CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, who wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“Florida’s Reuben Chinyelu tells me that he will withdraw from the 2025 NBA Draft and return to school next season. A key returning piece up front for the defending national champions.”

Chinyelu averaged 6.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game during the 2024/25 season and will be aiming to further develop his offensive game before potentially entering the draft next year.
