Fulham has made an initial written offer of approximately £15m for Ajax’s talented defender, Calvin Bassey.
Ajax is yet to respond to the bid from Fulham for Calvin Bassey, who still has four years left on his contract.
The Nigerian international joined Ajax last year, following two successful seasons at Rangers, where he played 65 games and achieved both the league title in 2021 and the Scottish Cup in the following year.
During his time at Ajax, Bassey has appeared in 39 matches, contributing with one goal and five assists.
Prior to his move to Rangers, he came through Leicester City’s youth academy and made his international debut for Nigeria in March 2022, having since earned ten caps for his country.
Bold Sports had earlier reported the 23-year-old player, known for his versatility, was also a subject of interest from Brighton & Hove Albion.
According to the Athletic, Fulham who finished 10th last season are hoping to improve this season and have already former Chelsea and Arsenal winger Willian to a new one-year contract after his contract expired in the summer.
Willian was on the radar of Nottingham Forest before signing a new contract with the Cottagers.
They are also interested in Leicester City’s Timothy Castagne and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Blues have however rejected their initial offer.
Despite interest from Nottingham Forest, Fulham’s Brazilian winger Willian has committed to the club, signing a new one-year deal with an option for a further year extension.
Fulham have equally turned down an offer of approximately £45 million from West Ham United for their midfielder Joao Palhinha.
