‎Femi Azeez says his impressive start with Nigeria has increased his desire to reach the Premier League after scoring twice on his Super Eagles debut in the Unity Cup.

‎The 24-year-old forward starred in Nigeria’s victory over Zimbabwe at The Valley, helping Eric Chelle’s side secure a place in the Unity Cup final against Jamaica. His two-goal display came shortly after an outstanding campaign with Millwall and further strengthened his growing reputation.

‎Azeez arrived in the national team camp following one of the best seasons of his career. The Millwall attacker registered 19 goal contributions in 35 Championship appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing eight assists.

‎His performances played a key role in Millwall’s push for promotion. Although the club finished third in the Championship standings, they fell short in the playoffs after a semi-final defeat to Hull City. Despite that disappointment, Azeez’s consistent displays earned him a place in the Championship Team of the Season and his first call-up to the Nigerian national team.

‎Ahead of Nigeria’s final against Jamaica, Azeez spoke openly about his long-term ambitions.

‎”I had a good season in the Championship and obviously, to do it on the international stage as well was just that next step up.

‎”Whenever I achieve something, I’m always hungry for more. I’m never satisfied with what I’ve got.

‎”I’m always going to work towards that next level because I’m ambitious as a footballer and as a person, and I want to reach as high of a level as possible.

‎”The Premier League is obviously the pinnacle of football. I’d love to play in the Premier League. So obviously, working hard, I’m going to do whatever I can to get there.”

‎Azeez also expressed pride in Millwall’s achievements during the season, despite missing out on promotion.

‎”I’ve had a good season. Put in some good numbers and good performances.

‎”But as a team, we’ve done incredibly well to finish third in such a tough competition.

‎”It’s a credit to everyone, obviously the manager, the boys behind, the boys in the team, the guys behind the scenes and whatnot.

‎”I think we’ve had an incredible season and obviously it wasn’t meant to be for us this season with the playoffs.

‎”In football, anything can happen. Hull were better on the days.

‎”Nevertheless, we’re all proud of what we’ve achieved, and we’re all hungry for more.”

‎Following a standout Championship campaign and a dream start with Nigeria, Azeez now heads into the Unity Cup final looking to continue his rise while keeping his Premier League ambitions firmly in sight.
