Nigerian boxer, Efe Ajagba, will be seeking redemption when he enters the ring on August 27 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa to face Hungary’s Jozsef Darmos in an eight-round slugfest which will see him win back some of his lost fans.
It will be Ajagba’s first fight after his loss to Cuba’s Frank Sanchez in October 2020 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas where he had a performance to forget. The Nigerian who was once ranked No.11 in the WBC heavyweight category ranking has fallen to 19th on the log after his loss.
Before the loss, Ajagba had been touted by pundits to become one of the favourites for the heavyweight titles. He will however be looking to bounce back against Darmos as he hopes to climb back and regain his glory days.
In 16 professional fights since making his debut in 2017, Ajagba has won 15 while recording one loss. 12 out of his 15 wins have been by way of knockout.
6ft 1in Darmos will be going into the toughest fight of his career when he faces Ajagba. The Hungarian in 21 professional fights has recorded 14 wins, four losses and three no contests.
