Lagos will take centre stage in African mixed martial arts on Tuesday, December 30, as AKO 12 lights up the Landmark Event Centre with nine high-profile bouts featuring top fighters from across the continent.
The all-night fight card brings together some of Africa’s most exciting talents, with Nigeria’s unbeaten Yahaya Yahuza, popularly known as Smile Strong, set to thrill home fans alongside elite fighters from Algeria, Senegal, Angola, Morocco, and Ivory Coast.
Yahuza headlines the co-main event, where he will face Algeria’s Fouad Madani in a keenly anticipated middleweight clash. The Nigerian remains undefeated and will be eager to maintain his perfect record in front of a Lagos crowd expected to fill the arena.
The main event sees Senegal’s Gasmire Diatta square off against Farouk Boudissa for an interim title, a bout that promises intensity and high stakes as both fighters chase silverware and continental recognition.

AKO 12 will also carry extra star power with former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman confirmed as a special guest. Usman, who was present at the fighters’ faceoff, described the card as one packed with excitement and believes the matchups reflect the growing quality of African combat sports.
With fighters drawn from multiple regions of Africa and championship implications on the line, AKO 12 is positioned as one of the biggest mixed martial arts events staged on Nigerian soil this year.
