CS Sfaxien have arrived in Nigeria ahead of their first-leg clash against Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Shooting Stars in the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Tunisian side travelled with a 22-man squad and other members of their delegation, departing Carthage International Airport on Tuesday evening before arriving in Nigeria on Wednesday to conclude preparations for Saturday’s continental encounter.
Shooting Stars will host CS Sfaxien at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta on Saturday, September 5, with the return leg scheduled to take place at the Stade Taieb Mhiri Sfax on Sunday, September 13.
The Oluyole Warriors will head into the encounter with confidence after making an impressive start to their domestic campaign. Shooting Stars defeated newly promoted Inter Lagos 2-1 on the opening day of the NPFL season to begin their campaign with three points.

CS Sfaxien have also enjoyed an unbeaten start to the new campaign. They opened their league season with a 1-1 draw against Stade Tunisien before recording a 2-1 home victory over Zarzis.
One player who could provide an additional threat to Shooting Stars is Nigerian striker Emmanuel Ogbole, who has been included in CS Sfaxien’s 22-man squad for the trip.
Ogbole, 23, scored five goals in 22 league appearances during his debut season with the Tunisian club and has already registered two assists in two matches this campaign.
The forward previously played for Nigerian clubs Nasarawa United and Kwara United before moving to Libya, where he featured for Libyan Premier League side Olympic Azzaweya, prior to joining CS Sfaxien.
His familiarity with Nigerian football and his strong start to the new season could make him a player Shooting Stars will need to closely monitor.
For the Oluyole Warriors, securing a positive result at home will be crucial as they seek to build an advantage before travelling to Tunisia for the return leg.
Shooting Stars will be hoping to capitalise on home support and their strong domestic start to avoid an early exit from continental football and progress to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
