‎Edo Queens beat ASEC Mimosas 3-1 to maintain perfect WAFU-B start

Edo Queens defeated ASEC Mimosas 3-1 on Thursday. The result came in the WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The Nigerian champions now have six points from two Group B matches.

‎Edo Queens also produced another strong attacking display. They opened the campaign with a 7-0 win over AS Garde Nationale. Chioma Moses scored a hat-trick in that victory. Oluwakemi Adegbuyi also found the net. The latest win keeps Edo Queens unbeaten after two matches.

‎Edo Queens opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. Folorunsho delivered the cross, and Oluwakemi Adegbuyi headed home for 1-0.

‎The Nigerian champions doubled their advantage in the 41st minute. Atume Doosuur found Chioma Moses on the left. Moses then set up Dooshima Tarnum, who finished to make it 2-0.

‎ASEC Mimosas pulled one goal back in the 83rd minute. Touré Doudou converted after Doris Ohia failed to deal with a free-kick.

‎Edo Queens restored their two-goal lead in the 89th minute. Umejiaku followed up on the rebound and scored to make it 3-1.

‎Oluwakemi Adegbuyi was named Player of the Match.

‎The victory gives Edo Queens six points from two matches. They will face Ampem Darkoa in their final Group B game on August 30.
