Super Eagles forward Femi Azeez has been named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year following an impressive 2025/26 campaign with Millwall, Bold Sports reports.
The recognition was delivered at the 53rd annual Professional Footballers Association (PFA) Awards held at Manchester Opera House on Tuesday to honor the standout performers of the 2025/26 English football season.
Azeez enjoyed a productive season for the Lions, registering 11 goals and seven assists as Millwall reached the Championship play-off semi-finals. Their promotion hopes, however, came to an end against Hull City, who went on to secure promotion to the Premier League.
The Nigerian was recognised alongside Coventry City goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, Milan van Ewijk, Bobby Thomas, Jack Rudoni, Matt Grimes and Haji Wright, with Millwall teammate Tristan Crama also making the final XI. Southampton’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney and Swansea City’s Zan Vipotnik complete the team.

Azeez’s performances throughout the campaign also earned him international recognition after he decided to represent Nigeria at senior level.
The forward was subsequently invited to join the Super Eagles and made an immediate impact on his international debut, scoring twice against Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup.
His inclusion in the PFA Championship Team of the Year caps a breakthrough campaign for Azeez, who combined consistent club performances with an impressive start to his international career.
The 25-year-old will aim to continue his form this season as Milwall look to surpass their achievements of the previous campaign. The club have already made a strong start, defeating QPR in the EFL Cup before starting their Championship campaign with two consecutive victories over Bristol City and Norwich.
