Tolu Arokodare delivered a decisive contribution off the bench as Wolverhampton Wanderers salvaged a 2-2 draw against Brentford F.C. on Monday at the Brentford Community Stadium.
The 25-year-old forward, who began the match on the bench, entered the field in the 74th minute. Arokodare rose to the occasion, scoring a crucial equalizer that kept the visitors in contention. He came close to completing a dramatic turnaround shortly after, his header striking the post in the 79th minute.

Wolves manager Rob Edwards praised the impact of his substitutes following the match, singling out Arokodare for his quick response.“I thought all the subs came on and affected the game really well—Tolu got his goal; Angel and Rodrigo, I thought they all had an effect,” Edwards said.
The draw represents a valuable point for Wolves, who had been viewed as underdogs heading into the clash, given Brentford’s strong home form and Wolves’ precarious Premier League position. The team had fallen behind by two goals in the first half before a long-range strike from Armstrong offered a lifeline just before halftime.
Despite the heroics off the bench, Arokodare faces competition for a regular starting position. Edwards is expected to continue favoring Armstrong in the lineup, but the forward’s performance demonstrates his readiness to make an impact whenever called upon.
With the international break approaching, the forward will be hoping that his impact catches the eye of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle ahead of squad selections, keeping him in contention for national team duty.
