…Olisa Ndah to wear the No. 99 jersey
Siper Eagles defender Olisa Ndah has joined South African Premiership side Stellenbosch FC until the end of the season, with an option to extend for a further year, following the expiration of his contract with Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.
The move brings an end to weeks of speculation surrounding the future of the former Akwa United centre-back, who spent four-and-a-half seasons with Pirates and had recently been linked with a departure from South Africa.
Stellenbosch confirmed the arrival of the 28-year-old on Tuesday.“Stellenbosch FC is delighted to announce that the club has acquired the services of defender Olisa Ndah (28),” the club said in a statement.
“The Nigeria international joins Stellenbosch on a free transfer after spending the last four-and-a-half seasons with Orlando Pirates and arrives as a welcome addition to the club’s defence.”

Speaking on the acquisition of the highly sought-after defender, who attracted interest from several clubs after bringing his Orlando Pirates stint to an end, Stellenbosch CEO Rob Benadie described Ndah as a top-quality player and expressed confidence in his impact.
“Olisa is a player with proven quality and experience at the highest level, and we are pleased to welcome him to Stellenbosch FC,” Benadie said.
“We are deliberate in our recruitment strategy to ensure that every signing complements the group, and having had the chance to assess him closely, we are confident he will be a valuable addition to our squad.”
Ndah was one of the most consistent performers in the PSL during his early years in the league, but recurring injuries later limited his appearances. After the expiration of his contract, he penned an emotional farewell message to fans, management, and teammates at Orlando Pirates.
The Nigeria international will now be aiming to rediscover his best form at his new club, re-establish himself as one of the league’s top defenders, and return to peak performance.
Stellenbosch and head coach Gavin Hunt will be counting on Ndah’s experience to help stabilise the team’s defence as they battle to avoid relegation this season.
Having bowed out of the CAF Confederation Cup over the weekend after failing to progress beyond the group stage, the club will now shift full focus to their domestic league campaign and the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup.
Ndah, who has been assigned the No. 99 jersey, becomes the fourth Nigerian to represent the club after former Enyimba and Warri Wolves forward Stanley Dimgba, as well as new teammates Ibraheem Jabaar and Kezie Enyinnaya.
