Super Eagles striker Akor Adams continued his fine run of form on Monday night, scoring a late brace to help Sevilla come from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Elche in their La Liga encounter, Bold Sports reports.
The 25-year-old, fresh from featuring in Nigeria’s third-place playoff victory over Egypt at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Saturday, came off the bench to rescue a precious point for the Andalusian side away from home.
Sevilla found themselves in early trouble after Aleix Febas handed Elche the lead in the first half, before Germán Valera doubled the hosts’ advantage in the 55th minute. With the visitors staring at a fifth consecutive defeat in all competitions, head coach Matías Almeyda introduced Akor Adams at half-time in search of inspiration, a move that would prove decisive.
The Nigerian International wasted little time in making his presence felt, pulling one back in the 75th minute with a close-range finish to give Sevilla renewed hope. Deep into stoppage time, Adams completed the comeback, smashing home a 92nd-minute penalty to level the scoreline and secure Sevilla’s first point since December, when he also scored and assisted in a 4-0 win over Real Oviedo.

The brace takes Akor Adams’ La Liga tally to five goals this season, already surpassing his total from the entire previous campaign. The forward has now registered eight goal contributions in his last nine appearances for club and country, underlining his growing influence and confidence in front of goal.
Sevilla remain 14th on the La Liga table with 21 points, just two points clear of the relegation zone. Almeyda will be hoping Adams can continue his impressive form as the club look to return to winning ways when they host Athletic Club on Saturday, January 24.
