Fulham head coach Marco Silva has delivered a positive injury update on Samuel Chukwueze, revealing that the Super Eagles winger could make his return when the Cottagers face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday.
Chukwueze has been sidelined since starring in Nigeria’s 4-0 victory over Benin Republic, where he registered two assists. His absence saw him miss Fulham’s league fixtures against Arsenal and Newcastle United, as well as their EFL Cup triumph over Wycombe Wanderers.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Silva confirmed encouraging news for several players, suggesting that the injury situation at Craven Cottage may soon ease.
“Andersen is in, Wilson and Smith Rowe are in contention. Muniz and Chukwueze could be in contention. Robinson is still out, Raul, we will have to assess tomorrow morning,” Silva said.
Fulham have struggled in recent weeks, losing four consecutive Premier League matches and needing a penalty shootout to edge Wycombe in the EFL Cup. Their lack of attacking spark and fitness struggles have contributed to a dip in form that Silva will be keen to address with returning players.
Saturday’s match presents an opportunity for the London club to regain momentum as they host a struggling Wolves side, who sit bottom of the table with just two points from nine games and no wins to their name.
Wolves, managed by Vitor Pereira, were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Chelsea despite a spirited second-half performance in which Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare found the back of the net.

The 24-year-old forward will be aiming to open his Premier League account when he lines up against his Nigerian compatriots Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, and potentially Chukwueze, should the winger be passed fit.
A return for Chukwueze would be a welcome boost for Fulham as they seek to rediscover their form and climb back up the table after a difficult month.
