Moses Simon will face his former club, Nantes, for the first time in a competitive fixture when Paris FC take on the Canaries at the Stade Jean-Bouin later today in a French Ligue 1 encounter, Bold Sports reports.
After six successful seasons with Nantes, where he made 201 appearances, scored 37 goals, and provided 42 assists, Simon joined newly promoted Paris FC in the summer as one of the experienced heads tasked with helping the club stabilize in Ligue 1 after a remarkable return to the top flight following a 46-year absence.
Although the Nigerian forward previously featured against Nantes in a pre-season friendly in August, a game Paris FC won 3–2, this will be his first official meeting with La Maison Jaune.

Despite his affection for his former club, Simon remains focused on helping Paris FC secure its fourth win of the season. Paris currently sits 11th in the Ligue 1 table with 10 points from eight matches, while Nantes is struggling in 15th place with just one win and six points from the same number of games.
Paris will also be eager to bounce back from their 2–1 defeat to Lens over the weekend—a victory tonight could lift them into the top half of the table, even if only temporarily.
Simon has made an impressive start to life in the capital, registering two goals and two assists in his opening matches. The Super Eagles star will be hoping to add to that tally and make his mark against his former team. He says that, despite having the opportunity to reconnect with his old teammates, his goal is to help his new club earn maximum points.

“I’m happy to be back with my friends and to be able to talk with them. But what I want above all is to win. It’s an important match for me and the club,” Simon said during their pre-match press conference per leparisien.
“I was a little sad to leave, I could have stayed in Nantes for 20 years,” he explains. “I had a strong bond with the supporters. I kept the Nantes jersey in my heart. I still have it at home.”
During his time at Nantes, Simon was instrumental to the club’s success and survival, with his consistent goal contributions proving vital season after season.
