Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has promised supporters that the team is fully prepared to make them proud as they gear up to face Benin Republic in the final qualifying round of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Speaking during her pre-match press conference at the Togo FA HQ, the Brighton & Hove Albion shot-stopper expressed deep appreciation to Nigerian fans for their unwavering support and assured them that the Falcons are determined to deliver another winning performance.

“I want to say a big thank you to all the Nigerian fans. They’ve been so amazing, they’ve been supportive. They’ve been with us from day one. They came all the way to Morocco, they supported us, they gave everything to us,” Nnadozie said.

“The only way we can pay them back is to keep winning. Of course they’ve been very calm, positive, motivating us to get the result since this game was announced. We can’t do this without them so keep supporting us, keep praying for us, and we will do what we know how to do best to make them happy.”

Nnadozie, who was named Best Goalkeeper at the last WAFCON and included in the Team of the Tournament, added that the players are mentally and physically ready for Thursday’s clash against Benin Republic.

“The spirit is very high. From the day we knew we were going to face Benin Republic, we’ve been communicating on how we can defeat them. We are mentally and physically prepared.”

She also praised her teammates for their strong club form across Europe, noting that it gives the team great confidence heading into the crucial fixture.

“The season is on in Europe and our players have been doing so well. So we are confident enough to go into the game and get the win,” she added.

While acknowledging that Benin Republic deserve respect, Nnadozie made it clear that the Falcons’ focus remains squarely on themselves.

“To be honest, we don’t care about who we play, we respect all the players. They are a good team, but the only focus is on my team.”

“Football is a game of luck, it doesn’t matter who is playing. But even if they bring all of their best players, we don’t care. That’s on them, not on us.”

The Super Falcons will face Benin Republic in the first leg on Thursday, October 24, by 4:00 p.m. (local time) at the Stade Kégué in Lome, before the return leg on Tuesday, October 28, at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
