Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is set to make his return from injury on Wednesday after being included in Besiktas’ squad for their Turkish Super Lig clash away to Kayserispor, Bold Sports reports.

Ndidi has been sidelined since suffering a thigh muscle strain while on international duty with Nigeria during their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa. The 28-year-old returned to training earlier this week, and while it remains uncertain if he will start, he is expected to play some minutes in Kayseri.

Since joining Besiktas from English Championship side Leicester City, Ndidi has featured in four matches. The Turkish giants lost twice in that run — against Lausanne in the UEFA Conference League and Alanyaspor in the league — results that contributed to the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the subsequent appointment of Sergen Yalcin.

Besiktas’ inconsistent form has left them in 11th place with just six points, already 12 behind leaders Galatasaray, though the reigning champions have played two more games. The return of Ndidi offers Yalcin a timely boost as the club looks to improve on their slow start to the campaign.

Their opponents, Kayserispor, are one of only two sides yet to win a game in the Super Lig this season. They have drawn four and lost one of their opening five fixtures, scoring four goals and conceding eight. Despite their struggles, the home side will be eager to spring an upset and claim their first three points.

Besiktas, however, will draw confidence from last season’s encounters, having beaten Kayserispor both home and away. With Ndidi back in the fold, the team will be hoping to kickstart a turnaround in form.
