The Super Eagles of Nigeria have touched down in Bloemfontein, South Africa, ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Bafana Bafana, scheduled for Tuesday, September 7, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerian contingent arrived with 22 players, alongside the technical crew and administrative staff, with Victor Osimhen the only absentee from the invited squad after sustaining a shin injury during the 1-0 victory over Rwanda. Despite his absence, the rest of the team is fully focused on the task ahead.
Fresh off their crucial win at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, the Super Eagles will hold their official training session at the Toyota Stadium by 6:00 PM local time on Monday (5:00 PM Nigeria time) as preparations intensify for the must-win encounter.

Currently sitting third and six points behind leaders South Africa in Group C, the Super Eagles know that only a win will keep their World Cup dreams alive.
Head coach Eric Chelle will be hoping his side can produce a much-improved performance compared to their previous meeting against the Bafana Bafana in Uyo, where Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s second-half equaliser salvaged a 1-1 draw.
South Africa, meanwhile, head into the clash in high spirits following a 3-0 triumph over Lesotho, which extended their lead at the top of the group and put them five points clear of second-placed Benin. A victory over Nigeria would all but secure their qualification for the tournament, setting the stage for a fiercely contested encounter.
Kick-off is set for 5:00 PM local time at the Free State Toyota Stadium, where both sides will battle for vital points in their bid to secure a ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
