The stage is set for an electrifying showdown as eight teams prepare to battle for supremacy at the Dreams Basketball Tournament, scheduled for August 20–25, 2025, at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Liberty Road, Ibadan.
Eight teams from across southwestern Nigeria will converge for what promises to be a high-octane basketball spectacle. The lineup features Showtyme (Ibadan), Kwara Falcons (Ilorin), Hoop & Read (Lagos), Ebun Comets (Lagos), Vision Sports (Abeokuta), Raising Stars (Ibadan), Deep Bond (Lagos), and the University of Ibadan (Ibadan), each bringing their own style, flair, and hunger for victory to the court.
With city pride, bragging rights, and tournament glory at stake, fans can expect an electric atmosphere and plenty of action-packed encounters. From experienced sides to up-and-coming teams eager to make their mark, every game is set to be a battle of skill, strategy, and sheer determination.

Speaking ahead of the event, tournament host Tunji Soroye — a former basketball player and founder of Just Help Africa — highlighted the competition’s purpose.
“The tournament was created to help young, aspiring ballplayers develop their skills, discover their strengths, and improve on their weaknesses by competing against other athletes. It also offers incentives, allowing winners to bring home rewards for their families.”
With elite teams, a competitive edge, and a mission to nurture future stars, the Dreams Basketball Tournament promises a week of top-tier basketball action in the heart of Ibadan.
