Manchester United have revived their interest in Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, as the Premier League giants prepare for a busy summer rebuild, Bold Sports reports.
According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, the Red Devils are closely monitoring Ndidi’s situation at Leicester City, with just two years left on his contract and fresh competition emerging from Juventus.
Ndidi, 28, has spent eight seasons at Leicester and is now open to a move away from the Championship club, where he has won an FA Cup and Community Shield in over 300 appearances. With Manchester United aiming to reshape their midfield following an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign which they finished 16th, the Super Eagles star has re-emerged as a prime target.

United previously considered a move for the Lagos-born defensive midfielder in 2024, but talks didn’t materialize after he signed a three-year extension at Leicester. However, that contract includes a release clause upon relegation, and the club are now exploring whether to trigger it before pre-season begins.
TuttoSport reports that Juventus are also serious contenders, hoping to lure Ndidi to Turin with Champions League football and a clear role under new manager Igor Tudor. But United believe their Premier League status, existing relationship with the player’s camp, and the appeal of Old Trafford could tip the scale in their favour.
Ndidi has reportedly attracted interest from Everton, Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Saudi side Al Ahli, but none have matched the sporting ambition or global platform United can offer. Sources suggest Ndidi is “enticed” by the possibility of joining a club competing for major honours in Europe, and sees this summer as the right moment to make a leap.

A move to Manchester would also reunite Ndidi with a higher level of competition, after helping Leicester secure promotion back to the Premier League but falling short of top-flight ambitions last season.
Manchester United are in urgent need of midfield steel. Ndidi — known for his tackling, interceptions, and positional discipline — fits the profile.
