Italian giants Juventus have reportedly reopened talks with Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen over a potential summer transfer, after their initial approach was turned down.

The Old Lady are preparing for the 2025/26 season with ambitions of returning to Serie A title contention, having failed to win the Scudetto since the 2019/20 campaign.

Manager Igor Tudor has reportedly requested at least three top-quality signings to bolster the squad as they aim to challenge the likes of reigning champions Napoli, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Atalanta, and AS Roma.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Osimhen is at the top of Juventus’ wishlist for the striker role, prompting the club to return to the negotiation table with Napoli.

However, a major hurdle remains: Osimhen’s release clause of €75 million is only valid for clubs outside Serie A. Juventus, therefore, must negotiate directly with Napoli, who are only willing to entertain offers in the region of €80 million for their prized asset.

Should the Bianconeri fail to land the Nigerian international, they are reportedly considering alternative targets such as Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres and Bologna’s Santiago Castro. However, both are seen as a step below Osimhen in terms of quality and impact.

Osimhen, who has expressed his desire to leave Napoli, remains one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. He recently turned down a lucrative €30 million-per-year offer from Saudi giants Al-Hilal

Despite the rejection, Al-Hilal is said to be undeterred and have reportedly increased their offer to €50 million annually in a renewed bid to secure his signature.
