Two-time Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, is set to perform at the FIFA Club World Cup Final Halftime Show, marking a historic event.
Joining Tems for the groundbreaking performance are global music stars J Balvin and Doja Cat. The show will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2025, during the final of the Club World Cup at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino officially announced the milestone event via his Instagram page, sharing his excitement about uniting the worlds of football and music on such a grand scale.
“I am delighted to share that FIFA and Global Citizen will collaborate for the FIFA Club World Cup Final Halftime Show to be headlined by J Balvin, Doja Cat and Tems on Sunday, 13 July 2025, firing up the MetLife Stadium in New York New Jersey,” Infantino stated.

He emphasised the significance of the collaboration, noting its potential to leave a lasting legacy both on and off the pitch: “For the first-ever halftime show in a FIFA competition, we’re proud to partner with Global Citizen to bring together a global superstar lineup. Together we are going to make history on a special occasion where football and music unites the world.”
The initiative between FIFA and Global Citizen also carries a strong humanitarian goal — empowering children through education, play, and opportunity. Every ticket purchase will contribute to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
“This show will be unforgettable – not just for its spectacle on a landmark night, but also for the lasting impact it will make,” Infantino added.
He went on to thank key figures who helped shape the project: “Looking forward to seeing J Balvin, Doja Cat and Tems entertain the world, and special thanks to Global Citizen Co-Founder and CEO Hugh Evans for your continued support and to Chris Martin of Coldplay, who will curate what will be a show to remember!”
Tems’ involvement in the show marks yet another high-profile appearance in the sports world. She previously performed at the NBA All-Star Game halftime show in 2023 and recently became the first African woman to acquire a stake in a Major League Soccer (MLS) team following her partnership with San Diego FC.
